i apologize if this is against the rules, but it's been on my mind for quite some time. i hope this isn't considered an advertisement.
i'm not sure if your local goodwill participates in this, but there is a website called shopgoodwill.com, and it's basically goodwill's e-bay. i get really irritated at work because whenever we find something really cool, it seems like we have to ship it away to e-commerce, so they put it on shopgoodwill.com, and then customers bid on it. our store's sales are excellent, but i'm pretty sure most people who visit the website are from other areas, not North Central Wisconsin. So i think other areas advertise. I can't believe the NCW region doesn't have a little sign in the curio cabinets advertising this website. i always tell my leaders that it sucks that we have to send all the cool stuff to e-commerce. i told them that it takes away from the thrill of the hunt. one of the leaders said, "well, just hunt for it online." he's kind of a dick, and he doesn't shop at goodwill, and i don't think he did before he started working there, so he doesn't understand.
anyway, i just want my fellow thrifters to know that this website is out there. you can search by item, by region, or even by individual store. goodwills from all over the States are a part of this. i personally don't use it. i look at my store's sales sometimes, and i see what my store and my region has listed on that site, but i just don't want to go thrifting on the internet. but i guess it's a handy tool for collecters...
so. shopgoodwill.com is the site. thank you for reading. |

Hello thrifters,
I'm a big fan of second hand shopping, and there's a tonne of stuff that I could show you but I kind of don't have the time for that and I doubt you do either... so instead, here's just a random mix of a bit of this & that, that I picked out because, well, I already had photos of them! (Most of them borrowed from my blog, trinketmelange.blogspot.com.)
 Yessssssss! *stoked*

Part two of my thrifting sets (set one was housewares) is BOOKS! I don't often thrift books because they're still kind of expensive, even used, but once in a while, I need something new to read. Here are most of the books I've thrifted or bought used. ( booooooks ) |
